Is About
We’re a new church plant in the Twin Cities and excited for the adventure! We would be honored to have you join us.
Who are we?
We are a new ministry start, modeled after the first century church, with a mission to gather as followers of Christ, intentionally being disciples and making disciples.
We gather primarily in homes and in large group celebration, doing church the "old-fashioned" way, as Paul spoke about to the Ephesians ". . . how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house" Acts 20:20.
We spread Good News! As the apostle John has written "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
What does that mean? God LOVES YOU and showed that love in a profound way: by sending his Son, Jesus to take your place. He put on YOUR dirty rags of sin, and was delivered up for punishment in YOUR place—so that YOU can be given a clean slate. Now, there is NOTHING to separate you from God. We all are in that same state of forgiveness if we choose to recognize Christ as our rescuer. This is huge! And so we shout this from the mountain tops. God's greatness is beyond measure, unequaled, and frankly, . . . ginormous!
Beliefs
Grace alone. Faith alone. God’s Word alone.
It really is that simple. We believe that men, women, and children are rescued from the effects of sin purely by the underserved mercy of God. Period. Through faith—a relationship of dependence upon Jesus that God Himself gives us—forgiveness and more become ours. Lastly, God's Word stands over us as ultimate. In it He gives us the rule and norm for all belief and through it makes us aware of sin, fills us with faith in Jesus, and guides us in faith-filled living.
We confess this creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The words of the Apostles' Creed, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, have served as a summary of Spirit-filled and scriptural belief since the earliest days of Christianity. They summarize what Christians have always confessed when gathered around God's Word in the name of God's Son--and they are the truths that we believe, teach, and confess at The Crux.

Pastor Kurt Linn
Who am I? I am a broken yet redeemed disciple of Christ Jesus, continually learning to love God and neighbor.
My wife, Kim, and I live in Roseville, MN. We were hitched July 2, 1994. We still live in our first home - our first two children were born here, and our third at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St Paul – The Lord gave us Bren in 1998, Honor in 2000, and Gabe in 2004. We currently have two pets: Kokoleka, the very lovable chocolate lab, and Koa, the very energetic golden retriever puppy.
The holy Scriptures, my wife and children, storms, music of many genre, worship, coffee and conversation, pizza, the Fall, home-town sports teams, the fellowship of believers, a good movie and popcorn. . . these are a few of my favorite things.
I’m thrilled and honestly a bit like, “What are we doing?!?” God knows. We are embarking on a sweet adventure! A church plant of this nature is something I have thought about for many years. We truly are thrilled to be doing a church plant that desires to gather as "the Church" and be intentional on being disciples and making disciples. It is my desire for you to experience the love of Jesus. You are invited to do just that at our Crux gatherings! We want to recapture our homes to be places of refuge, Biblical teaching, worship, prayer, laughter, and abundant love.
YOU are loved.
